why Lenggong - eden of the east

  • Asia’s secret World Heritage Site & Southeast Asia’s best-kept secret, Lenggong Valley is a prehistoric treasure trove, unlocking secrets of paleolithic (roughly 2.5 million years ago to 10,000 B.C.) and neolithic (around 7,000 B.C. to 1,000 B.C. mainly characterized by the development of settled agriculture and the use of tools and weapons made of polished stones) civilizations living in the valley’s million-year-old caves,

  • archeological site proving our ancestors settled in the valley after early human migration out of migrating out of Africa, crossing the Middle East and South Asia on foot for thousands of years before embarking to Australasia and the Pacific Islands,

  • a valley carved out of a 1.83 million year old meteorite impact site, blocked and diverted the Perak river preserving paleolithic tools, where hand axes are among the oldest so far discovered outside Africa, qualifying as evidence for extremely early hominid presence in South-East Asia,

  • remnants of volcanic ash caused by a super-volcano eruption (the largest explosion ever recorded in human history, of which caused the extinction of prehistoric humans) engulfing the valley with 6 meters of ash (even reaching Africa, India and Antarctica),

  • and emerging destination for multi-tourism clusters exhibiting archeological, educational & scientific tourism, and heritage & history, potential business events and youth camps exemplifying transformative scales for rural communities adapting to fresh and new tourism-business perspectives scaling impact of what works improving its natural environment and physical landscape placing emphasis on sustainable economic, environmental, human and social developments.
